Kaat Schroven (KU Leuven) and colleagues discovered that the phage protein PIT2 directly interacts with the LasR T2SS effector, interfering with P. aeruginosa quorum sensing and attenuating virulence, inspiring a new potential phage-encoded anti-virulence strategy to combat pathogens.
